This website was created by me, Dave Rankin, (with graphic design, layout, and tons of other help provided by Catharine Rankin), as a place to showcase and distribute some of my side projects.
I've been a professional software developer for over 13 years, mostly working in web-, network-, and Internet application development, but I've also had the the chance to write desktop-based and mobile software from time to time, too. I've been an amateur musician since I first started learning to play the drums in third grade, and I've been in everything from youth orchestras to punk bands to jazz ensembles. But, for the last few years, I've mostly just focused on trying to make electronica. I'm also very interested in photography, and I sell stock photography on websites like Big Stock Photo.
I like to travel and move around—I've lived in Arlington, VA, Boston, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Providence, RI, Seattle, WA, and I grew up just outside of Cleveland, OH. But, I think I may be settling down permanently in Brooklyn. I also spent a decent amount of time living in Germany and Austria. I used to speak German fairly fluently, but these days I'm a much better listener than a speaker.
